Trees:
We are proud participants in the Plant-A-Tree Program. Each and every new customer at Rockrose Handmade has a tree planted for them to help offset carbon and improve the environment. This program specialises in bio-diverse conservation plantings using trees and shrubs that are native to Australia. The trees and shrubs that are planted help reduce soil salinity, provide wind breaks, enhance biodiversity, sequester greenhouse gas emissions and restore habitat for native animals.
Prints for Life:
Rockrose Handmade stocks a series of charitable prints designed by Amanda from Wit & Whistle, and the proceeds from the purchase of these is donated to Integrated Community Development International (ICDI). ICDI works collaboratively, in long-term partnership, with communities in central Africa, empowering people with sustainable access to clean water, transformational sanitation principles, and improved agricultural resources. Children are our Future:
Rockrose Handmade donates to Plan International. Plan works with communities in 49 developing countries. By actively involving children and by working at a grassroots level with no religious or political agenda, Plan International unites and inspires people around the globe to improve the world for children. Other Green Bits:
At Rockrose Handmade we package our goodies in 100% recycled Kraft paper, 100 % post-consumer waste bubble-wrap, magic scotch tape made from environmental things, and use recycled paper for our mailing labels. We re-use whatever packaging is sent to us from our Maker’s to reduce landfill, and because (as we all know) it is better for the environment to reuse old stuff, than to make new stuff.
